"Politics & the Political"

Here is a brief clip from an interview with Erik Swyngedouw. I am exceedingly interested in connecting architectural practices with the evolving field of critical geography.

"Politics & the Political" is an excerpt from an interview with Manchester based political geographer Erik Swyngedouw where he distinguishes between "Politics" and "the Political" as categories to understand our contemporary institutionalized society and protest resistances. Later in the interview and in his writing, Swyngedouw draws on the French philosopher Jacques Ranciere to distinguish between politics and the political, which Ranciere extrapolates upon in his book Disagreement: Politics and Philosophy. Questions, camera, and editing by Kenton Card. Sound by Carola Schuster.
